another afternoon with ash

Yesterday I drove up to Longmont (about 45 minutes north) to meet Ash and Olivia for lunch!

When I googled "things to do in Longmont" a place called the Cheese Importers kept popping up. So we decided to try it out and loved it! It's a french cafe/bakery + a french store + a cheese store. It was so much fun to look around the shop while I waited for Ash who was lost for 45 minutes. Poor thing.

Lunch was AMAZING.

Of course I had a macaroon for dessert and they served it on the cutest little plate.

and i had THE most amazing panini ever! Prosciutto, Mozzarella, Tomato, and Basil on Ciabatta. TO DIE FOR!

and Olivia slept through lunch. and all of the people ooh-ing and ahh-ing at her!

Isn't it a cool cafe? Very unique.

Part of the store.  I found some cute christmas gifts.

After lunch we walked down main street to see the shops and such. It's a cute little town.

And then we had some time to kill because most of the shops are closed on Monday. (must be a small town thing.) So we got our nails done! Olivia loves salons. and asian ladies. She was all smiles and giggling and laughing the whole time.

It was so fun having Ash, Brad, and Olivia around! Thanks for coming out you guys!

weekend with sister!

This weekend Ash, Brad, and Olivia came to visit us! Brad has an interview in Fort Collins tomorrow and so they drove out friday night and hung out with us on Saturday. It was really fun! I love showing people around our city!

For breakfast we went to Denver Biscuit Company. Their cinnamon rolls are the best I've ever had! and their french toast is also amazing! You really can't go wrong at that place.

We went back to our house to feed Olivia and hang out for a sec.
Olivia really loves me...i promise.

See? A non crying picture!

Brad was sick and slept all day. And Devin studied for most of the day.
So I took Ash and Olivia to the Candy Cane Festival at the Hammond Candy Factory.

It was kind of a bust. There were tons of long lines for things like...candy....santa....horse rides...factory tours... and we didn't want to spend a ton of time in line. So we walked around and then left shortly after. but it was still fun!

Olivia really enjoyed it. She loves candy factories.

I decided to redeem myself by taking Ash and Olivia to a different part of town: the highlands. It's a really cool area with a gorgeous view of downtown and the most amazing ice ream: Little Man Ice Cream.

We had the salted oreo and hot chocolate ice cream. Delish!
And look how pretty. you can see downtown on the left and Little Man on the right. Love this area!

After that, we went on a nice walk over the bridges that connect the Highlands to downtown. It goes over a river and through some parks and such. It's really pretty.

This is on top of one of the bridges.

Later on we picked up Devin and went to dinner at Steuben's, one of our favorite restaurants. Everyone was mesmerized by the baby--like they've never seen one before. Definitely different from Utah where there are billions of kids everywhere.

More snuggle time with livie!

Such a fun weekend and I'm so happy that Ash and Brad finally came to visit!!! Crossing our fingers that they move to Fort Collins!

ugly sweater christmas party

I'm pretty sure we have the GREATEST friends EVER here in Denver.
so we decided to throw a little christmas party! an ugly sweater christmas party to be exact.

Here's the line up! (we'll forgive those who didn't actually wear an ugly sweater)

I had to put up a close up of my ugly sweater- i just loved it so much. Those gorgeous tea pots and coffee mugs and the flattering shape of the sweater. Nothing better.

These were some of my favorites. Cassie and Scotty borrowed these sweaters from her grandma but didn't have the heart to tell her it was for an ugly sweater party.

The babies loved playing with the prizes for the ugly sweaters. Bubbles! and little airplanes!

And Daphne is just adorable when she marches around singing "We wish you a merry christmas".

We had hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls. Why did I not take a picture of the table?? Just take my word for it- it was pretty amazing ;)

Here's Beck helping me make hot cocoa. He definitely won most adorable sweater.

Here are the cinnamon rolls! I made 4 different recipes in the last 2 weeks just to find the perfect roll.
And I am kind of burned out and never want to eat one again. (okay that's not totally true.)
But this recipe is to die for!! It's so good and they were a big hit at the party. So if you are looking for a good cinnamon roll, don't take the time to make 4 different recipes. Just take my word for it!
and i also made: Chocolate Peppermint Chex Mix (which was also a huge hit and wonderful as a snack to eat during church.. just sayin)

med school gala

Friday night we went to the Med School Christmas Gala at the Denver Art Museum.
It was pretty fun, but my favorite part was getting dressed up! (even if my dress is fitting a little funny these days)

The first hour we got to walk around the art museum.

But apparently we didn't get the memo that you shouldn't walk around the art museum and that you should start drinking and eating all of the food instead.
So by time we went to the Gala, this was the only food left. And everyone was pretty smashed.

But all in all... it was really fun to meet all of the people that Devin is with every single day! I forget that he has all of these friends that he's with all of the time and who i've never met. He was like the popular guy at the party. When we walked in tons of people were yelling, "Devin! Devin!" and all excited to see him and hugging him.
But i mean, come on. This guy is pretty likeable:

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was fantastic! We spent Tuesday night through Sunday afternoon in Utah. This year's holidays are spent with Devin's family. It was totally fun, but also a little hard for me because a lot of my relatives were in town and i hate missing out on family things. But I really can't complain.

Wednesday we went to lunch with my family + my cousins/aunt and uncle!
It was so fun. Look at these 2 cute grandpas!

group shot.

We also got to spend a couple of hours catching up with my high school besties, Stefi and Lisa, and their husbands. It was really fun to see them!

Thursday morning I went to go running with my dad, but we decided to go on a walk instead with Ash and baby Olivia. Super fun! and I think i'm getting the hang of pushing a stroller :)

Aren't they the cutest??  All ready for Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving was spent eating in Midway at the hotel Zermatt. Devin's aunt, uncle, cousin, and grandparents also joined us.

Post thanksgiving dinner. I just love this boy!

Devin and I had our first Black Friday shopping experience. We went to Cabellas at 4:30 am on friday morning and watched thousands of people lined up outside. It was crazy!! We waited in the car for 30 minutes until everyone was inside and then we made our way in. It was totally crazy!

After that we went over to the outlets and got a few baby outfits. The deals were pretty awesome! But we didn't really need anything besides baby stuff. Honestly the best part was going to home depot for an allen wrench (random item we needed) and getting a free donut!

After that, we met up with my family at Mimi's cafe for some breakfast!
Photo bombed!

Friday night we went with Devin's family to stay at the Grand America for a couple of nights! It was really fun and so christmasy with all of the decorations! We loved it.

Friday night we also went to eat at the roof! One of my favorite restaurants ever! and it was so pretty (and packed) because it was the lighting of the christmas lights at temple square.

This is my candid shot I tried to get to show how amazing our view was from our table. Little blurry but you get the idea...

And here is my 23 week bump! Baby girl is growing like a weed!

Saturday we went shopping and to breakfast and played Hallie's awesome game that she made: Pin the gobbler on the turkey with thanksgiving trivia questions. Pretty entertaining.

And sunday was baby Olivia's blessing! What a doll! I love her so much.
