Thanksgiving part 2

Devin and I are really lucky because we had TWO thanksgiving dinners.
When we got to utah, we went to his grandparent's house (mom's side) to see all of his cousins and aunts and uncles. (They had a thanksgiving dinner the night before the actual day because one of the aunts had to leave town thanksgiving morning.) I'm not complaining!

So fun to see all of the smiley cousins! These 2 girls are in college now (byu and dixie). It's funny how the older you get, the smaller the age gap seems. When I met these girls they were in junior high and I felt super old, but now that they're freshman in college I feel like we're the same age. (i think in my mind i'll always be 18)

Devin's grandma, uncles, and aunt.

I didn't know so many people could fit around one iPhone screen to watch youtube videos.

Ettie loves her great grandparents. She's very lucky to have so many wonderful people in her family who love her. She's the first great grand child on Devin's mom's side. It's very exciting!

Grandpa dick calls her EJ. I love it (but only when he calls her that).
And when he's holding her he talks to her and tells her how wonderful she is and how she's the cutest baby ever and he tells her about Etta Place (from butch cassidy and the sundance kid) . it's the sweetest thing in the world.
heart. melted.

thanksgiving part 1

Wednesday we flew to SLC for thanksgiving!
We  I was a little worried after watching the news that morning about it being  one of "the busiest travel days" and all. But the airport was easy peasy and we found an awesome parking spot and got to the gate way early and even had time to grab a snack.

keeping ettie entertained with her favorite book "Puppy Boo".

the best thing ever is when the flight isn't full and we get a row to ourselves. So amazing! It's happened the last few trips we've been on and makes a huge difference with the little one.

We arrived at the same time as Devin's dad, so we got to see him for a few minutes and snap a few pictures!

Yay for seeing 3 grandparents in one day!

she's one loved girl.

grandpa blaine.

playing with grandma and grandpa's retro kid's clock.

don't worry, more pictures to come... I took over 600 pictures during this trip.

Tuesday, November 25

7 months and 3 weeks

I finally pulled out my good camera (instead of just using my iPhone) and took some pictures of ettie! Don't mind the food on her face. whoops!

o christmas tree

On Friday, ettie and i finished decorating our little tree. It's so fun to reminisce where each ornament is from or when we got it. My mom would always give me and my sister an ornament each year and devin and i get an ornament on every trip, so now we have quite the collection!

Friday night we met some friends for dinner and to watch the christmas tree lighting in Stapleton.
Ettie loves kids. She thinks they're so funny. Lucy is so good at getting her to laugh.

i'm pretty sure everyone in stapleton had the same idea to eat at the town center before the tree lighting.Noodles and company was pretty crowded and i had to fight people off to get a table. (okay not really, but i did have to tell two different people that we were already waiting for a particular table. Super stressful and so devin stood far away from me and let me do my thang. he doesn't like confrontation.)

a blurry picture of the stapleton tree.

our friends! they just moved here and they're the best!

i love that they decorate stapleton for christmas. they even had santa there and some princesses and hot chocolate and bbq food samples and free hand warmers and the "dogs of stapleton calendar" ha! It was a fun night!

Puerto Rico

Thursday we flew to Puerto Rico. Random right?
We got to tag along on a business trip. #winwinsituation

There was a tropical storm and so the first day it rained and rained and rained.
It was the perfect type of rain though- warm and humid and perfect for swimming. We got the whole pool to ourselves. I even got my hair wet.
my sis in law, hallie, turned to me and said "Woah! You got your hair wet."
There's a first for everything my dear.

(ps. i'm not skinny dipping in this picture. my swimsuit is pink. pinky swear.)

if i had a penny for every time we've buried hallie on a vacation... i would be a very rich woman.
She loves it.
This time she did it all by herself though because she has lazy siblings. She dug a really deep hole and then stood in it and put sand all around her. Keep in mind she is 5' 7.75". So the hole was super deep.
She keeps us all young.

Since it was a business trip, we had to put in some work by going to dinner at someone's house and socializing. It was as tough as it sounds.
We love the Max International associates in Puerto Rico. Seriously the nicest, sweetest people you will ever meet and we love seeing them every year.

Goodbye Puerto Rico! You're beautiful!

Nashville we love you

7 plane rides later... and I think it's safe to say we had the most random week ever!
Last monday i flew to SLC with Ettie so that my parents could watch her for the week.
(it breaks my heart just thinking about it.)
She was perfect on the plane ride there and gave me lots of kisses.
well, her version of a kiss is opening her mouth really wide and slobbering on you.
but it's pretty dang cute.

I was a mess when i left her on tuesday.
SO HARD.
Get-a-blessing-from-your-dad type of hard.
but my parents are amazing and took such good care of her! I never could've been away from her that long if i didn't have someone i completely trust watching her. They took such good care of her and gave her so much attention that they forgot to get the mail- for a week!
ha! that makes a mama's heart happy.

So tuesday I flew with Devin's family to Nashville and then Devin met us there because he had class that day.
We started off our trip by singing a nice Scott family rendition of "tomorrow" from Annie in the hotel elevator. Someone even joined in with us this time. You really should try it on the next trip you go on- -the key is keeping a straight face while belting out the words.

Wednesday we explored Nashville a little in the POURING RAIN. Nonstop rain all day. It was really pretty and i loved it! We went to the mall and to the Grand Ole Opry house and to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel for lunch. I ordered a club sandwich every place we went. It was weird.
I'm in love with that city though! It is such a cool place and the people were really nice everywhere we went.

We went back to the hotel and got dressed up for THE CMA'S!!!!! It was THE best night EVER! Such a cool, once in a lifetime experience and I'm so happy we got to be there.
For those who have asked:
(dress: Nordstrom)

It was basically one big incredible concert of all of the people you would ever want to see perform. Brad and Carrie were hilarious. And blake and miranda are the greatest power couple ever. Dierks is extremely good looking and Tim and The band perry sounded incredible.  Ariana Grande's performance of Bang Bang was one of my faves. Keith Urban has the greatest voice. And miranda and meghan trainor's rendition of  "all about that bass" was SO COOL. I was in heaven listening to all of these amazing performers.

Such a fun night in Nashville!
