baby shower #1

Last Friday we flew to Salt Lake for one last time before baby comes!
Can you believe it? Next time we fly somewhere we will have a baby.

First stop was in n out for a quick dinner and then to my parents house to see cute little Olivia!

Saturday morning my mom and grandma had a little family baby shower for me. It was so much fun and my mom did such an amazing job! The food... the decor... everything was perfection.
And little Olivia wore her party dress.

It was so fun to see family and friends! I feel so lucky! Our baby girl is already so spoiled and has the most amazing shoe collection.

Us and cousin Alexis.

Little Liv was so exhausted and fell asleep while I was holding her. Nothing better!

Uhhh i think this is turning into an Olivia post...

The most amazing table! My mom really is the best hostess ever! And that cake was delicious!

And she had all of these balloons in the living room. It was magical!

and another olivia picture.... Are you worried for how many baby pictures I'll be posting when my own baby comes?

And then sunday we went to church. and Olivia looked very classy in her fur coat.

We had a great weekend and I can't believe we only have 5 weeks left!

Happy Valentines Day!

I sure love Valentines Day! Always have, always will. I just love pink and flowers and hearts and love so much!

We celebrated on Wednesday because we are going to Utah today!
We headed down to Larimer Square to a restaurant called Ted's Montana Grill.
It was so cozy inside and we absolutely loved it!And the menu was incredible! It took me forever to decide what to get.

I ordered The Madison Burger: A bison burger, on a wheat bun, with arugula, goat cheese, and a raspberry spread. (Yeah...i googled goat cheese and pregnancy when i got home and I definitely wasn't supposed to eat this.. But it was sure delicious!!)

The waiter never brought us our appetizers so he said dessert was on him!
So we shared the cookie and ice cream.

This is Larimer Square. It's a street downtown with the most AMAZING restaurants! and it's always lit up and busy. Definitely one of our favorite places in Denver.

My Valentine. I sure love this guy!

He even sent me two dozen roses early so that I could enjoy them before we went out of town.

xoxo
Have a Happy Love Day!!

33 weeks, Jay, and the nursery

Some random pictures from the week.
^^The nursery. The best room in the whole house.^^
I'm still deciding on that rug though... thoughts?

^^I started a book club. ^^
And we are reading Monuments Men (not my decision but tevs). I was really excited about reading it and then the book came in the mail and it's so thick and very small print.... I was pretty skeptical but it's actually turning out to be really interesting. It's definitely like reading a history book though so it's taking me FOREVER to read.

^^33.5 weeks! and getting really excited!^^
Only 6.5 weeks to go!

Here's an update:
-I'm still working out everyday.

-I have a new goal that i've been doing for 2 weeks now: one treat per week. i went a little overboard with the holidays so this has been really good for me. I feel so much better and more in control! and it's better for the little one of course. We don't need her being addicted to sugar like her mom ;)

-i still sleep PERFECTLY. and i'm so grateful for that. It's definitely getting very uncomfortable but i'm still able to sleep all night long.

-awful heartburn and acid reflux. but only if i have pasta ?? so confusing to me. or spicy foods of course.

^^Did anyone watch Jay's last show??? ^^
Devastating I tell you! I just love him so much and we are so sad to see him go. He even got choked up at the end when he was saying goodbye.
HEART. WRENCHING.
My favorite part of the show was when Billy Crystal, Sheryl Crow, Jim Parsons, Oprah, Carol Burnett, Kim Kardashian and Jack Black sang "So Long, Farewell". Look it up... it's hilarious.

Here's his goodbye. Try not to cry ;)

Love you Jay!

ABC and Ocean Prime

On Friday night we went to a med school couples dinner.
"All aBout Couples" (ABC.... clever right?) is a group set up for students and their significant others and there are activities all year long. There were speakers and a nice dinner served and it was a lot of fun.

^^We sat next to a couple that I went to high school with. ^^
He is a second year and she is having a baby another baby in may! yay for babies!

^^The dinner was located at the University Club downtown.^^
It's this really cool, old building for members only, so we felt really cool going inside.

^^This lady and her husband spoke about getting through med school/residency.^^
She is the doctor and he is a stay at home dad--with a full time job too i believe. So they talked about their struggles and gave us some advice. A girl leaned over to me afterward and said, "well that was depressing." But I have to say, in their defense, this was one of the more positive med school experiences i have heard and the husband was pretty hilarious. I've learned not to take these things too seriously. Everyone's experience is different and we've been fine so far despite everyone saying the first year is "sooooo hard". blah blah blah. Every couple is different.

The highlight of the night was going with one of our new couple friends to a restaurant down at Larimer Square called Ocean Prime for drinks and appetizers. (D and I opted for water of course... but apparently the wine was to die for) The restaurant was soooo cool and I wanted to pull out my camera but it was kind of a fancy schmancy place and I felt awkward so I found the above picture online. It was such a cool restaurant and the food was amazing! Plus we love our new friends and it was fun to get to know them better!

p.s. I got a parking ticket downtown for not having a front license plate... but my car doesn't even have a place to put one so i'm really confused and bugged. Denver police are kind of the worst. We got a ticket a couple of weeks ago for having a headlight out. Definitely missing Utah and the "fix it tickets" where it's basically a warning to get it fixed. grrrrr.....
